Frequently Asked Questions
Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?
No. The page loads the PDF tools into your browser and does all the work there, in a background worker. Your files are never sent to a server, so it also works offline once the page has loaded. Nothing is stored after you close the tab.
Is there a file size or daily limit?
There are no limits we impose and no sign-up. The practical limit is your device’s memory: a few hundred megabytes of PDFs is fine on a laptop; on a phone, very large files may be slow, and the page warns you first.
Do the tools add a watermark?
No. The only watermark is one you add yourself with the Watermark tool.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
Not yet. Unlocking a PDF with its password, compression and OCR are planned for a later version. Today the tool tells you when a file is protected instead of producing a broken copy.
