Today’s look
Blush T-shirt, black jeans and white sneakers, with a burgundy leather jacket
Casual, right for 18 °C.
Why this works
- At 18 °C, the burgundy leather jacket handles the time outside and comes off indoors, where the blush T-shirt keeps you comfortable.StandardSchiavon & Lee (2013)
- Blush and burgundy sit next to each other on the colour wheel, so they blend naturally.ResearchSchloss & Palmer (2011)
- The blush T-shirt against the black jeans gives a clear light-and-dark contrast, which people tend to like.ResearchSchloss & Palmer (2011)

How this works
Method
With no wardrobe it builds a look from colour schemes; with yours it picks from what you own, leaving out pieces archived, in the wash or worn recently. A pick must suit the occasion and the weather, then it is scored on colour harmony (the Ou–Luo model and scheme rules, in OKLab), light against dark, warmth (garment insulation summed as in ISO 9920, against the UTCI clothing model), formality and rotation. The same day and wardrobe give the same pick until you shuffle.

Colours that work together
Colour harmony is scored with the Ou–Luo model, fitted to how people rated thousands of colour pairs, plus the schemes stylists use: one bright piece with calm neutrals, shades of one colour, neighbours on the colour wheel, or bold opposites. Navy, denim, olive and camel count as neutrals.
Dressed for the weather
Every garment has a typical warmth in clo. The total is compared with what people wear at today’s temperature (the UTCI clothing model), so a cold morning adds a layer and a hot day takes one off. Set the temperature yourself, or turn on the forecast.

No account and no limits. Your wardrobe and photos stay in this browser: back them up at /backup or sync them through a folder you choose. Photo cut-outs are made on the device too.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does Outfit of the Day pick an outfit?
First it keeps only what works today: a complete outfit, right for the occasion and warm enough for the weather, leaving out pieces in the wash. Then it scores the rest on colour harmony, light-and-dark contrast, warmth, formality and how recently you wore each piece, and picks one of the best. The same day gives the same pick until you shuffle.
Do I need to photograph my clothes?
No. With no wardrobe it builds looks from colour schemes. To use your own clothes, add each piece in three taps (the kind of garment, its colour, its fit) and an illustrated version appears straight away. You can add a photo later; the cut-out is made on your device.
Are my photos and wardrobe uploaded anywhere?
No. Photos are cut out and analysed in your browser, and the wardrobe is saved in this browser only. Back it up as one file at /backup, or sync it between your devices through a folder you choose. The weather forecast is off unless you turn it on, and then only a rough place (about 10 km) is sent to MET Norway.
Why does it say “less sure” on some reasons?
Some style rules are backed by colour research or international standards; others are stylists’ conventions that nobody has tested. Each reason shows which kind it is, so you can weigh it yourself.
How warm should my outfit be?
Clothing warmth is measured in clo. The page adds up typical values for each garment, as ISO 9920 describes, and compares the total with what the UTCI clothing model says people wear at that temperature. It is a guide: you may run warm or cold.
