Picking pages across documents

Extracting copies the chosen pages into a fresh PDF and leaves the source untouched, so it suits pulling a signed page, an invoice or one chapter out of a longer file to send on its own. The new file keeps the pages’ text, fonts and images exactly.

You can choose pages from several open PDFs at once; they are saved in the order they appear on screen, so drag them into the sequence you want first. A typed list such as 1, 3, 10-12 is quicker than tapping when you already know the page numbers.

Extracting is also the quickest way to send part of a large file by email: a ten-page excerpt of a 300-page scan is usually a small fraction of its size.

  1. Open the PDF. Drop the file; its pages appear as thumbnails.
  2. Choose pages. Tap pages to select them, or type a list such as 2-5, 9. The order on screen is the order saved.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between extract and split?

Extract makes one new PDF from the pages you pick. Split cuts the whole document into several files (by ranges or every N pages) and gives you a zip.

Can I extract pages from several PDFs at once?

Yes. Open several files, select pages from any of them, and they are saved together as one PDF in the order shown.

Will the extracted pages keep their page numbers?

Printed page numbers are part of the page, so they stay as they were (page 9 still says 9). Use Add page numbers afterwards if the new file needs its own numbering.
