Dubai’s time zone
Dubai keeps Gulf Standard Time (GST), UTC+4, all year round: its clocks do not change for summer. Phones and computers set Dubai’s clocks from the Asia/Dubai zone of the IANA tz database, and so does this page.
Dubai has kept UTC+4 since 1920, when it left local mean time, and the United Arab Emirates has never observed daylight saving. The same clock is used in Oman, while Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain keep UTC+3, an hour behind. The everyday label is Gulf Standard Time, GST; the tz database itself writes the offset as “+04”.
The UAE changed its working week, not its clock, on 1 January 2022: federal government offices moved from Sunday–Thursday to Monday–Friday, with Friday a half day, to line up with markets in Europe and the Americas. For calls, Dubai sits between Europe and Asia: 9:00 am in Dubai is early morning in London and 10:30 am in India.
