Counting down to an event
Pick the date and time, give it a name, and the countdown starts. Everything that defines it, the date, the time, the time zone and the title, lives in the page’s link, so sending the link to friends or dropping it into a group chat shows each of them the same countdown, ticking toward the same moment. Nothing is stored on a server and there is no account to create.
The time zone matters more than people expect. A product launch at 9:00 in San Francisco is 17:00 in London for most of the year, but 16:00 for a few weeks in March and in late autumn, when the US and the UK change their clocks on different dates. Set the event’s own zone and the countdown aims at the right instant wherever the viewer is. Weddings, exams, trips, birthdays, release days, New Year and the last day of term all work the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I share a countdown?
Set it up, then copy the page’s link, or use Copy link or Share in the menu beside the countdown. The link carries the date, time, time zone and title, so anyone who opens it sees the same countdown. Change anything and the link updates, so send the new one.
Does the countdown allow for daylight saving time?
Yes. The target moment is worked out in the event’s time zone using the IANA time zone database, so a countdown that crosses a clock change still lands on the right minute. That is why the hours left can differ by one from a simple days-times-24 sum.
Will it make a sound when the countdown reaches zero?
If the page is open at that moment, the sound you picked plays as the countdown reaches zero. Like any web page it can’t ring from a closed tab, so for a moment you must not miss, keep it open on screen or set a reminder on your phone too.
